Man on the Year

With little to laugh or even smile about in real life politics this movie might just be a hit. With the Foley scandal hitting hard, North Kore firing off nuclear bombs and the Iraq war  looking more and more like a modern day  Vietnam, we can only hope a movie like Man of the Year can take our mind off the reality we are facing as a nation.

Check out the short synopsis written by Yahoo Movies:

Acerbic performer Tom Dobbs has made his career out of skewering politicians and speaking the mind of the exasperated nation on his talk show. He cracked scathing jokes at a fractured system night after night–until he came up with a really funny idea: why not run for president himself? After a flip comment, Dobbs ignites a grassroots movement that puts him on the ballot. Hot on the campaign..

Could Apple have Two more studios lined up post Holiday? According to AppleInsider.com they do. Check out the link for more details even though they are light on the specifics.

Two major motion picture studios have indicated that they expect to join Walt Disney in offering their film content on Apple Computer’s iTunes Store within six months, says one Wall Street analyst.

Is Google Crazy

I am not sure if you like or hate Mark Cuban but he has a really interesting article regarding the pending sale of Youtube by Google. I added a passage from his article which I see as the biggest down fall of the transaction, the chance for getting sued. If you go on YouTube and search for any TV show you fill find it on the site.

It amazes me they have not faced legal action yet? But now that they have deep pockets it seems they are open for legal action. You should read Mark’s Blog post, it is very interesting regarding video on the web in general. One thing is for sure we are in a new phase of the Internet. Video now rules.

It will be interesting to see what happens next and what happens in the copyright world. I still think Google Lawyers will be a busy, busy bunch. I dont think you can sue Google into oblivion, but as others have mentioned, if Google gets nailed one single time for copyright violation, there are going to be more shareholder lawsuits than doans has pills to go with the pile on copyright suits that follow.
