Archos 604 wifi Test Drive
I am in the testing the Archos 604 wifi with the movie service cinemanow.com. This Archos device allows you to store movies, TV shows, music, music videos, and pictures from many different sources. What I am interested in is downloading a movie and transferring it to the Archos player and then attaching it to my TV.
Over the next few days I will test the whole process and give my feed back. If this really works it is an alternate to itunes and ipod play. I also have this set up, which is not the greatest quality… I am not ready to upgrade to itv, so let’s see how this goes with the Archos. Here is Cnet’s reviw of the 604 wifi.

Xbox Live Video
Did Microsoft beat Apple to the tv with the xbox live video site? Check out this story I found online.
MS will have 1,000 hours of programming, so what does that work out in terms of shows? MS is also talking about a HD version coming soon.
Beginning on November 22, Xbox 360 owners will be able to buy and rent over 1,000 hours of programming using the new Xbox Live Video Marketplace.

End of YouTube
Is this the beginning of the end for YouTube. Everyone called it. Once Google took over the legal action would start. Looks like this is the start. Will it be the down fall? Well if you take away the core product of any business you will lose customers. Part of the draw is to watch clips from ESPN or a funny commercial, but if this content goes away I am not sure how many people are really going to stick around to watch teenage girls trying to sing and dance like Beyonce.
Google’s YouTube removed 29,549 video files from its popular Web site after receiving a demand from a group of Japanese media companies over copyright infringement, an industry group said on Friday.

The Burn Debate Rages On
Check out the lively debate here: at Digg regarding burn to DVD from cinemanow.
Seems lots of people digg the idea of DVD to burn movies as found on Cinemanow, but hate the movie selection. Tokyo Drift is not a movie I would spend money on but I love the new technology and I love the fact Hollywood studio are trying new methods of distribution.
Any way check out dig and add your 2 cents.

First Time In Movie History
Cinemanow announced it will offer Day and Date
Burning of “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”

DVD is $9.95.
today for their DVD burning technology at thesame time the movie is released in all the majorretail stores. The cost for the downloadableDVD is $9.95.See Tokyo Drift here:
This announcement marks the first time a major
studio has released a DVD both in retail stores
and for purchase online. Normally a title would
not be offered online for download for a minimum
of six weeks and sometimes much longer.
CinemaNow’s technology allows consumers to
download the Full DVD including all the extras
and menus and burn them to a standard DVD which
can then be watched on your TV using any DVD player.
Currently Cinemanow is the only online movie service
that has this technology. Apple is working on a
solution which will not be available until next
year. Movielink also has something in the works
but is not willing to comment on a timeline. No
word from Amazon.
