Goal! The Dream Begins

Goal! The Dream Begins

I am a huge soccer fan I can’t wait for the world cup to start in June. The United States soccer team has the highest FIFA ranking ever and we are looking good this year. Let’s hope we fair better than four years ago when we came in dead last!!!

To get you hyped for the World Cup you should check out “Goal! The Dream Begins”. Just hearing the title of the movie gets me all worked up about the coming Cup. The critic’s have given this movie less than good marks. But who really cares I am going to try and see this before June. It will be a nice warm up to June. Here is the story line.

As an underprivileged Mexican-American immigrant growing up in the poor section of Los Angeles, Santiago Munez seemed destined to follow his father’s path in life: laboring at menial jobs to earn just enough money to support his family. Naturally gifted, his amazing talent on the soccer field was wasted in recreation league games while he could only dream of playing on the world stage of professional soccer. But when a British scout discovers his talent and gets him a tryout with one of England’s premier soccer clubs, Newcastle United, Santiago must choose between his father’s fate and his own destiny.

So I hope you are enjoying the world cup! check out this trailer to get you all warm and fuzzy inside. GOOOOOOAL!!!

Poseidon

Poseidon opens this weekend. Yippee, not really. Looking at the previews I really have no desire to go watch this movie. I think I will just watch Basketball and try and get some stuff around the house. If you don’t know what this flick is about here is a short synopsis.

When a rogue wave capsizes a luxury cruise ship in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, a small group of survivors find themselves unlikely allies in a battle for their lives. Preferring to test the odds alone, career gambler Dylan Johns ignores captain’s orders to wait below for possible rescue and sets out to find his own way to safety.

Mission Impossible III

Mission Impossible III

Opens today. Thank god. I am tired of seeing Tom’s mug all over the news. He even took over Yahoo.com!

Mission Impossible III

I don’t think I really want to see this movie right now. Not worth it. I think I will wait for cable or Netflix. But for all you MI 3 fans here is the story:

Super-spy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has retired from active duty to trains new IMF agents. But he is called back into action to confront the toughest villain he’s ever faced - Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman), an international weapons and information provider with no remorse and no conscience. Hunt assembles his team - his old friend Luther Strickell (Ving Rhames), transportation expert Declan (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), background operative Zhen (Maggie Q), and fresh recruit Lindsey (Keri Russell) - to travel the globe pursuing Davian and rescue Hunt’s love, Julia (Michelle Monaghan).

United 93

United 93” has received very good reviews from the “experts”. Not sure how I feel about this movie. I know some movie houses pulled the trailer in New York because it was upsetting movie goers. I did watch the re-make on A&E earlier this year and liked it.

I know it’s a tough subject for our nation to think about but the reality is 911 happened and we need to be able to handle movies regarding this subject.

Anyway if you get a chance to see it let us know what you think.

RV

RV, staring Robin Williams, opens this week. This comedy will go head to head with “United 93“.

RV Story Line:

An overworked Bob Munro, his wife Jaime, their 15-year-old daughter Cassie and 12-year-old son Carl are in desperate need of some quality time together. After promising to take them on a family vacation in Hawaii, Bob abruptly changes plans without telling them. Instead of a week in a tropical paradise, they’re going on a road trip to Colorado in a recreational vehicle.

I saw the trailer for this and it looked funny but I will wait for cable on this one.
