Ipod 2001
WOW! 2001 the ipod was unveiled! How time flies! Well this is definitely a walk down memory lane. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did…
We just ran across a notable bit of iPod history that provides a jolting toss down memory lane: Steve Jobs unveiling the first generation iPod at an Apple Event in late 2001 – five years ago. It almost brings a tear to the eye. Just days later, iPod Hacks came into being. Have a look at the YouTube video.

edonkey is dead
Another P2P is out of business. One by one all the Peer to peer companies are falling to the legal sword of the music companies.
The parent company of popular file-sharing network eDonkey has agreed to pay $30 million to settle a copyright infringement case brought by six music labels, according to court documents filed this week. The settlement follows a federal district court ruling earlier this week that dealt what appears to be final blow to MetaMachine’s peer-to-peer (P2P) client eDonkey; the eDonkey Web site has since been taken down.A judge in New York’s southern district ruled Monday that eDonkey facilitated illegal activity by allowing users to swap copyrighted material over the eDonkey2000 network. Another MetaMachine creation, a decentralized P2P network called Overnet, was also ruled illegal.

Pirates hits $1 Billion
Simply amazing! I had no idea there were that many teenage girls in the world.
Moviegoers just can’t get enough of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, racing in droves to see the misadventures of Jack Sparrow and his swashbuckling escapades. According to Variety, the sequel has topped $1 billion (!) in worldwide receipts. It is only the third film to accomplish such a feat, joining the ranks of Titanic and The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. The Pirates follow-up has far surpassed the first installment, mainly due to its progress overseas. While it brought in over $414 million in the U.S, its nine-weekend roll internationally has earned it more than $583 million.

Amazon Movie Download Service
It’s official, Amazon has launched their movie download service, unbox. Their service seems much like Movielink and Cinemanow without the ability to burn to DVD. The pricing is the same and the studio restrictions are the same. Really a new player in an old market palce with little new to offer. Don’t take my word for it, check it out at the link belwo.
There will be many downloads in your life. But only one first download from Amazon Unbox Video. So make it special. Light the candles. Pour a beverage and consider:
