Saw III

Saw III killed the competition with a $34.3 million debut. Not bad for a pre-halloween weekend. Lionsgate’s Saw bumped off Disney’s Prestige for first place in the box office.

Here is the top ten for the weekend:

The Prestige tops boxoffice

Clint Eastwood comes up number one this weekend, but the an opening of $14.8 million there really is nothing to high five yourself about.

Here is the full list of the top movies this weekend.

1. “The Prestige,” $14.8 million.

2. “The Departed,” $13.7 million.

3. “Flags of Our Fathers,” $10.2 million.

4. “Open Season,” $8 million.

5 (tie). “Flicka,” $7.7 million.

5 (tie). “The Grudge 2,” $7.7 million.

7. “Man of the Year,” $7 million.

8. “Marie Antoinette,” $5.3 million.

9. “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning,” $3.9 million.

10. “The Marine,” $3.7 million.

The magic act “The Prestige” debuted as the weekend’s No. 1 movie with $14.8 million, outperformingClint Eastwood’s World War II saga, which opened at No. 3 with $10.2 million.

Grudge 2 takes tops

A bit late I know but wanted to give the weekend wrap up. Grudge 2 takes the top of the box office with $22million. Did anyone see Grudge? If so hit us back and let us know how it was.

Kutcher takes top 2 spots

Big weekend for Mr. Kutcher. He is part of 2 movies in spot one and two for this weekend. I will wait until The Guardian comes out on cable, if that…

A cartoon bear and deer talked their way to the top of the box office as Martin Lawrence and Ashton Kutcher’s animated comedy “Open Season” debuted with $23 million.

Kutcher also finished in second place with Disney’s “The Guardian” in which he co-stars with Kevin Costner as Coast Guard rescue swimmers. The action drama opened with $17.7 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
