Digital cinema will save Hollywood
“Titanic†director James Cameron, wants Hollywood to offer movies in 3-D to counter declining sales and piracy. He wants the industry to stand up and fight back. Huh?
I agree with the premise Hollywood needs to do something, but offering movies in 3-D is just stupid.
Here is what Hollywood needs to do:
- Offer convenient ways for consumers to download movies
- Allow burn to devices and DVD’s
- Offer the downloads at reduced price from retail
- Day and date release.
Think itunes. What if apple had decided people didn’t want itunes, with its portability and great price point but rather they want just another form of the current standard?
Wake up and smell the technology! We want our movies the same way we get our music, just like we do with itunes. Even my Dad had an ipod and loves his itunes!! He is in his late 60’s. Re-think the 3-D thing and really listen to what we want. If you won’t listen just head over here

Slow weekend
“Silent Hill†takes first place this weekend. You know the movie with the billboards all around town with a little girl on it with no mouth?
It bumped “Scary Movie 4†from the top spot. The “Sentinel†rounded out the top 3 winners of the weekend.
It was a slow weekend at the box office but don’t worry the drama of “United 93″ will sure make things very interesting next week.
